The Salien are the Wizards of North America. They are the oldest, surviving Wizard Realm with a documented history stretching back over 11,000 years. The Salien were the original Wizards of the Old World(Europe). Around 5500 BCE, the Salien led the wizarding peoples of the Old World on The Exodus to the new lands across the sea (North America). The Galdorgalere of today are related to the Salien (they are descendents of Salien who did not join in The Exodus and Salien who returned to the Old World after The Exodus).
The Salien played a pivotal role in uniting the Wizard Realms, first by partaking on The Great Journey (5020 to 5000 BCE). During The Great Journey, the Salien discovered the other five Wizard Realms. The Salien were also the driving force behind the LW and the AUWR.
The Salien have been fighting (on and off) a war against the evil forces led by Caerth Malus. (You can read more about the War of the Crystal. It is documented in the book, The Caledon Crystal.)
The Salien are divided into four Houses and seven Tribes. The Tribes are species specific while the Houses encompass members from across the Tribes. The Seven Tribes of the Salien are the Elegia (elves), the Libertusa (goblins), the Evadama (humans), the Pumilla (dwarves), the Paulings (best described as "half-sized humans though not actually genetically related), the Verdadama (leprechauns), and the Eximia (giants). All Salien with the exception of the Elegia have wand powers. The Elegia and the Libertusa alone among all of the Wizards within the Seven Wizard Realms are Eisee (immortal). The Elegia can Maru (communicate over distances and without speaking). No Salien parkour (they use time travel instead). Besides Parkour, the Salien have had members with every other known Wizard Power (many of these powers are found exclusively within the Royal Family).
The Four Houses of the Salien are the Valenkinas, the Guldahartas, the Reyvensenas, and the Humelfletas. The Guldahartas are the warriors brave and strong. The Reyvensenas are the wise. Neither of these Houses have special powers. The Humelfletas are Valutus (shapeshifters). The Valenkinas alone among all of the Wizards of the Seven Wizard Realms can Zamana, or travel through time. Not all Tribes are represented within the Houses of the Salien.
